The Christmas Tsetse Fly

... has bitten me. It is 9pm and I'm going to have to go to bed in a moment and succumb to sleepiness. I know I'm tired because I was just about to tell Dru off for climbing on the kitchen counter when I realised it was my new furry hat.
It has been a whizz-past weekend, extremely busy and emotionally fraught - but things appear to be majorly resolved now, so I can relax and just let sleep take over. Then I suppose I'll be wide awake at 3am or something stupid like that, but at least I'm not in work tomorrow. Not that I'm doing anything particularly pleasant, as a few people know. I also seem to have scheduled in a whole lot of stuff to do in addition to my little appointment. Taking a book back to the library seems to be the thing that requires the most effort. I will put off the Christmas shopping until the last instant. It kind of helps that I'm celebrating it a week late with sirboodle due to visiting schedules we worked out this weekend. I have quite a lot of pressies already for folks - so no peeking in cupboards and things if you come round, okay??!
I need to do writing stuff this week. Priority - essay plan, if I can get the bare bones down I'll be happy. It has been pointed out to me that there is a screenplay of Henry V, but it isn't available in the Wolverhampton uni library, and it's £26 on Amazon. Perhaps someone knows where I can download it from? Birmingham might have it, I suppose, or I could always pop down to Stratford for the day, muuurrr. It seems so ridiculous to do that, not for the effort involved in itself, but for the fact that it is necessary to book time off work to do that kind of thing, and I really can't afford too many odd days next year like I took this year. And I have no time left this year.
Secondly I have fiction writing I need to get on with. I must be more disciplined with myself! I had a bit of encouragement this weekend though as I came second in a poetry competition - wooo! I won £15 which I promptly blew in Lush today! My hair needs all the help it can get after I burned it on Friday - don't worry, not too badly. It's one way of getting rid off split ends I suppose!
Yesterday's Writers' party went well. Jeff Phelps came down and ran a little workshop which we speeded through to get to the booze and food. Sirboodle bought a copy of Painter Man off him and made him sign it to Bo Bo Kitty Fuck - poor Jeff! Ah well, a sale's a sale!
Sharvo and Fincho came over last night with Ashley and Phill and we had a jolly nice time. Looking forward to Tuesday now, when A Different Kettle of Fish (Phill's night) is on at the Flapper and Firkin. Details at http://www.adifferentkettleoffish.blogspot.com Should mention that my bro's band motorcyclestunts are playing that night! Phill now seems to be branching out from his local online journalist status and becoming a bit of a radio personality, what with his appearance on Malcolm Boyden's show last week. TV is surely the next step!
